About Sandy Shin

Sandy Shin is an accomplished marketing and communication professional with over 30 years of experience. She has worked for highly recognized corporations and higher education institutions including UCLA, USC, IBM and Disney. Her expertise in brand management has raised the visibility and reputation of several organizations. She’s been responsible for creating customer engagement and enhancing the customer experience across all touch points. She has a passion for storytelling and amplifying diverse voices.

She presently is Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Braille Institute of America, a non-profit that serves annually more than 13,000 adult, youth and children who are blind or visually impaired. She is a member of the executive leadership team and advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors. In 2019, she launched Braille Institute’s Centennial campaign and rebranding efforts which included the introduction of a new typeface, Atkinson Hyperlegible, specifically developed to support accessibility, and help with print legibility for people with low vision. There have been more than 40 million global impressions of font through Google Fonts.

Sandy holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is a native of Southern California.
