About the Event

WP Accessibility Day is a 24-hour single-track conference that will take place via Zoom from October 15-16, 2025. The event has 501(c)(3) nonprofit status as a U.S.-based nonprofit focused on website accessibility education. WP Accessibility Day is organized by a worldwide group of volunteers in the WordPress community.

This event is free for attendees. Around the world, accessibility education can be expensive and may happen at times of day that make it difficult for people to attend. WP Accessibility Day was created to offer a free educational event over 24 hours as a way to make accessibility education more widely available. Recordings are also made available to anyone who wants to see a talk again or learn from a past talk.

The conference is dedicated to promoting accessibility best practices for WordPress websites. It includes presentations targeted to designers, developers, content creators, and others knowledgeable about building WordPress websites but who want to grow their accessibility knowledge. It is pre-approved for continuing education credits for the International Association of Accessibility Professionals Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) and Certified Professional in Core Competencies (CPACC) certifications.

How Sponsor Dollars Are Spent

Sponsors make the WordPress Accessibility Day event possible! Sponsorships cover the cost of running the event and making it accessible to everyone around the world, including people with disabilities. We’re also proud to be an event that pays our speakers to compensate them for their time and remove income barriers that might stop someone from applying to speak.

Here are some examples of what sponsorship dollars pay for:

  • Closed captioning during the event.
  • American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation during the event.
  • Corrected captions and transcripts on final videos.
  • Paying speakers.
  • Marketing software such as Mailchimp for email marketing and Buffer for scheduling social media posts.
  • Administrative technology costs such as website hosting, domain registration, Google Workspace, and Zoom Webinars.
